Image Design Camp, a Recap!
Christina Wedge and I held our first Image Design Camp and had a blast! The purpose of the event was simply to give entrepreneurs and bloggers the tools to take their business to the next level, all in a beautiful and inspiring atmosphere.
Video Series: Shopping and Styling in Chattanooga
Welcome to my inaugural video for my styling and treasure hunt video series! Each week I will take you on a trip to shops all over the southeast looking for gold, er, awesome tsotchkes and such. I will share my designer tips on what to look for and where to use them.
Welcome to the new Gina Sims Designs!
I am so excited to showcase my work and my inspiration on the new and improved Gina Sims Designs! This process has been a bit like buying a new little black dress.
Decorators' Show House and Gardens Tour
The 44th Annual Atlanta Symphony Associates' Decorators' Show House and Gardens opened to the public this weekend. Built in 1926, the Palazzo Rosa, or "Pink Palace" so named for the pink flowered trees that bloomed years ago, has been outfitted by some of the best designers in Atlanta.
Fishing for Paradise
Even though I am undeniably a city girl, I adore visits to the country. The great thing about Nashville, Tennessee is that you find a beautiful and happy medium for both sides of your personality.
Pst…Fashion and Interior Design are living together!
Interior design is the roommate that borrows shamelessly from the cool roommate's closet. At first she borrows a scarf and turns it into a throw pillow and the next thing you know, she's gone reverse von Trapp Family Singers on you and her clothes are now drapery panels.

How to Create a TV Gallery Wall (and why I don't trust people that don't watch TV)
I respect people that say they don't own a TV, but I am 98% sure we will not be good friends. I need to relate on some pop culture level. I do not need you to know the details of the Kardashian's last sisterly fight or the names of all the Housewives, but a knowing nod and disbelieving gasp about House of Cards or Parenthood or Brooklyn 99 (the list goes on) goes a long way.
Hunting Color in the Woods
When I walk in the woods, I'm that person on their hands and knees saying, "will you look at the colors in this moss!" and "this mushroom coming out of this green decaying log is blowing my mind!" There's one like me in every group. Right? Right?
Announcing…. (Drum Roll, Please)….
I am beyond EXCITED to announce my partnership with Christina Wedge Photography in a new venture! We are the new Victoria Secrets models! Jokes.
My Favorite Things Party!
I recently gathered some of my favorite women to share some of our favorite things. Enter "Favorite Things Party"! The rules were simple. 10 (plus me) women brought 10 of the one thing they cannot live without (that costs between $1-10).
Dramatic Dining: How to Interpret the Inspiration
Many of us have pin boards and folders filled with photos of gorgeous homes we want ours to look like. But taking that next step of translating a glossy magazine into our humble living room feels, well, daunting. For me, it feels like my job. And I LOVE it!
Color Blocking
"Color Blocking" is a fancy term for painting a portion of something. It is a high-impact trend in fashion and home decor that could not be easier to pull off. Today I'm making gift bags for an upcoming party but the same technique can be used on everything from flower pots to legs on furniture to wall art.
Rassel Tassel
I am a fan of a well-place tassel. No, not that kind (ladies, please)! If there is a tassel to be found on an accessory, I will likely purchase said item.
Love and Snow
Happy Valentine's Day! This week has been full of snow days, homemade valentines, and, since my husband was in California on business (bless his heart, snark, snark), quality time with my kids!
Blue and White and on the Lake
My client recently retired and moved to a beautiful home on the lake. She wanted a country bedroom that reflected the tranquil beauty of her surroundings. Blue evokes feelings of peace, calmness and spirituality as well as security, trust and introspection. We punctuated the blue with tones of white and antique brass.
Gallery Wall Tips and Tricks
Who doesn't love a great wall of artistically displayed art and photography? When doing a gallery wall, the trick to making it look like a "collection" is to have a unifying element.
Traditional Living Room: A Before and After
Let's get this new year started with a great "Before & After"! My clients loved their furniture and lamp, but once they purchased them years ago, they stopped, not knowing what to do next.
Rosemary Salt
My house smells insane. Every Christmas, I love to give a handmade offering to friends, colleagues and teachers that they will use long after the New Year. This year I made Rosemary Salt and I am a teensy obsessed.
Merry Christmas Wrapping!
When someone says they have their gifts purchased and wrapped by September, I generally want to punch her in the face. Now, I love gift giving - the shopping, the wrapping, everything! - but I like to do it in the weeks just before Christmas, mostly on account of my procrastination and such.
