Mother-Daughter Living and Playroom
The client for this beautiful transformation is a single mom who wanted to claim her space for herself and her daughter. It was so special to be a part of this process, and completely indulgent to focus on designing a completely feminine, luxurious space for these fine ladies.
Fresh Living Room in Atlanta
Happy New Year! What resolutions did you make for your space this year? Have you said to yourself, "You know, I'll get a new sofa and the room will be done." New sofas are great. New beds are great. New furniture is fun and when you're starting with an empty room.
Urban Cabin
Decatur is known for its distinct, historic neighborhoods, eclectic food, and vibrant downtown: it is not known for log cabins. My clients are the owners of this unlikely urban retreat, and wanted to design a space that provided a TV-free zone to read, relax, eat, and play games as a family.
Fresh in the Highlands
My clients have a gorgeous tudor home in the Virginia Highlands suburb of Atlanta. It needed to be fresh and rescue dog friendly!
Beach-Inspired Living in Atlanta
My clients were married on the beach. The ocean inspires their lifestyle - casual, dynamic and full of life. They love to entertain and with little children and a big, sweet dog, the design needed to be functional and open.
Vintage Modern
This young family bought a diamond in the rough house - a great area, good bones, and hasn’t been updated since it was built. Oh yes, my friend, we’re talking pink carpet and floral wallpaper. It was amazing.
Color Boost, The Sequel
When I first worked on this beautiful house for this lovely newly married couple, they liked the back living space of their house but did not know what to do with the front dining room, entry and reading room. When we finished that, they loved it so much, the living space now needed to catch up!
Hodgepodge Basement Turns Hostess with the Mostest
My client had a basement that was filled with a hodgepodge of furniture from her previous house. It was comfortable and lovely but she wanted it to have a lot more life and be a space that was much more conducive for her family of 6 and their friends to have movie night and play games.
Fresh, Blue, and like Kelly Ripa
When my client called, she was knee deep in construction dust. She had her architect draw up plans to open up the house, add a porch with a skylight to the house with gorgeous doors and transom windows to let as much light in as possible.
Urban Farmhouse
If you do not know much about Nashville, Tennessee, let me sum up for you: It’s amazing. You have to go. Everyone in the world is moving there. I lived there for a few years and met my husband there. We go back to visit family on the regular and it holds a very special space in my heart.
French Antiques Go Modern
My dear aunt and uncle have lived in Dallas, Texas for decades and in this beautiful house when two of the kids were still at home. Now that they've been out of the house for awhile now, it was time that their home had some love.
Bluegrass Americana
In order to decorate a house and tell a family's story, it's important to learn the family's story. It is absolutely my favorite thing about my job. You people are fascinating. This family was so jam packed full of interesting, quirky and fun, I could hardly contain myself.
Family Bungalow
My dear friends were contemplating a move. To move or stay, that was the question. What wasn't a question was that their home was no longer working for them. The kids were old enough to keep toys to their designated spaces and the furniture had done it's time. Hand-me-downs and the pieces from the bachelor days made it feel less than who they had become as a family and it was time for a reset.
Apartment Turns Home
Design can be healing. This is another amazing project to share because the process was so special to myself and my client. She had just experienced a very difficult life change and found herself in a new space.
Townhouse Transformation
My client recently retired and is now spending a lot of time at home. She decided she had worked hard her whole life and deserved to actually enjoy her home. Amen to that!
Artsy Decatur
I have my clients do a lot of work on the front end to show me what they love. Usually, they have a board on Pinterest or they have collected dream rooms on Houzz.
Lovely Loft
There are times when your favorite client’s mom gets a posh new loft across from Ponce City Market and she insists said loft gets some Gina Sims Designs love. I love those times. Her mother was an absolute joy to work with: I.have.the.best.clients.ever.of.all.time.in.all.the.land.
From Brown to Bright (a Before and After!)
There are people in this world who consider it a sin of the worst sort to paint wood, stone or brick. Perhaps you are one of these people? You know who you are and so does everyone else because you are militant about it.
Traditional Living Room: A Before and After
Let's get this new year started with a great "Before & After"! My clients loved their furniture and lamp, but once they purchased them years ago, they stopped, not knowing what to do next.
Update on Travelled Industrial Chic
When I first did this eDesign plan for my clients, their house was still in blue print phase. It is so fun to see it begin to materialize!
