Master Bedroom Update
My client had recently completed a beautiful renovation in her kitchen, living, and outdoor space and Gina Sims Designs was lucky enough to design the interior decor in beautiful and fresh blues (click HERE to view this awesome project). In the Master Bedroom, inspired by her current bedroom rug, we focused on a neutral khaki and charcoal color scheme with subtle accents of red and green.
She never knew what to do with the window behind the bed. She had covered it in decorative tiles to make it disappear - however, we decided in this bedroom redesign, we'd actually make the window the focal point of the room. This was done by making the window appear larger by flanking it with beautiful buffalo check curtains, hanging from a brass curtain rod that adds interest and glam to the space. The curtains add warmth, drama and a graphic element.
We lightened up the room by painting it a lighter brown and added large, inexpensive art. New side tables serve as nightstands and we emphasized the warmth and coziness of the room with layering various textures in the bedding -- including this fantastic duvet that takes a fresh interpretation of a chevron print.
This wasn't the complete renovation that she had done in other areas of the house: this room is a brilliant example of how small changes and a modest budget can make a big difference in any space. Is it time to update your bedroom? Contact me now!
