Children's Art Gallery Wall
Two little boys needed a room to play and do their homework. I was working with Cristi Holcombe on this design and she suggested a gallery wall with the boys' art. Their mom had a huge bin (as all mothers do) where she stashed their work away. I picked up colorful frames all over town to create this gallery wall that can grow as they do, adding more frames and changing out old work to highlight the latest masterpiece. My favorite piece is the self-portrait in the black frame where I cut up one painting to use as a colorful border. You should have seen their faces when they saw their work on the wall! I was so inspired by this project I had my daughter (a 6 year old budding artist in her own right) create a huge family portrait for our entry way. The boys look normalish but she gave herself rainbow hair and I have a massive gold dress. It's pretty awesome. When I get it matted in bright orange, I'll show you.
Get out your markers, scissors and colored pencils and create your own masterpiece wall this weekend!
