Toddler Bedroom: Just Add Robot

I have collected vintage (and vintage looking) robots for years. When the doctor said, “It’s a boy!” I knew his room would showcase my robots. Three years later he prefers I call them “his robots.” Tsk tsk. Wanting to avoid a theme room, I aimed for his room to be playful, colorful and full of fun and spunk, just like him!

You also may remember his first birthday. Obsessed? Nah. I’m just stating my point of view before he has a say. It’s called smart parenting, folks.

Wanted: Skyline View and Chic Interiors (sense of humor, a must)

I assisted behind the scenes with a photo shoot for Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams at the W Atlanta Downtown this week. The view was amazing outside and inside. Photos will appear in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and Jezebel.

If you see them you might even see yours truly. I’ll be playing the part of “blurry girl walking with glass in hand” or perhaps “blurry girl talking to man across the counter with dogs roaming about.” If there is a market for blurry modeling jobs, I think I may have a new career. I just hope my blurry passion comes through in print.

MG + BW furnishings are drool-worthy, all of them. The people are great too. Brian Waidelich (a.k.a. “blurry sophisticated man playing with dogs”) is the regional head dude (unofficial title) and is a lot of fun to hang out with. Here’s a sneak peek of our shoot with interiors photographer, Christina Wedge.

I adore this smooshy nosed dog collection by Georgia designer Sugarboo Designs for Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. Love love love.

This cow made photographer, Christina Wedge, very very happy on the day of our shoot. I love the way the neutral palette was hit in the gut with aqua accents. Nice.

Mission Style Bedroom Plan, eDesign

I’m working on a design for a bedroom that is 1100 miles away. This online ‘eDesign’ option is great for people who live far away and want to take their time implementing my plan. In this case, the total plan is 12 pages and includes room layouts, sketches, and a link for every piece pictured (and much more not pictured here).

The sprawling mission style home is surrounded by woods and the homeowners desired a plan that brought the outdoors in, was warm and inviting but with great style. They had a mission style sleigh bed and 2 mission dressers to work with when we started. I’m very happy with how it is coming together!

Chic Charity

Last week I posted about attending a party benefitting Room Service Atlanta. Tonight I visited the United Methodist Children’s Home boys cabin and it was stunning! 19 designers took over the kitchen, bathrooms, common areas and several bedrooms. The full project images are being released for sale in a couple of weeks but I can give you this sneak peek!
