My client’s little girl had a gray room that needed a high-voltage shot of life. Here is how I found it:
And here’s how I left it:
We did an accent wall in a bold teal with a lighter shade on the rest of the room, bath and closet. We focused on art and books to bring our color and accented with that awesome colorful rug. She now has a great little reading corner with light up stars to make it feel nothing short of magical. Painting spice racks hot pink made inexpensive shelves she can easily access. The mirror and basket will be a great area for her as she grows into wanting to play dress up. The art are all images her moms knew she loved. When she saw it, I KID YOU NOT, she said “Amazing” for the first time. My work here is done.
My clients had purchased this large, beautiful piece of metal art but it felt oversized and out of place, the only color in the room.
We balanced the color throughout the room by adding window treatments, a vibrant rug and pillows full of texture. The shelves are accessorized to bring balance to the art, making it picture perfect!
My clients did not like their master bedroom. I feel strongly that your bedroom should make you happy when you wake up and be restful, cozy and essentially be a big hug when you go to bed. Their favorite color was purple and we decided to use green as an accent.
The current pieces were too severe all together, so we went for a gray upholstered bed and kept the side tables and dresser. Botanical prints in greens and purples graced the walls along with an abstract over an abstract print chair. Saturated purple on the floor provided a good foundation for a crisp, clean white bed and an accent pillow in our colors. Mirrors behind the lamps added a touch of easy glam and reflected the light in a beautiful way.
